The candidate will teach four courses a semester (4/4) and serve in the Department of Technical Communication. Potential courses will include upper-division undergraduate courses for technical communication majors. The position will be hired on a renewable contract to begin in fall of 2017.

The Department of Technical Communication at the University of North Texas is one of only a handful of stand-alone departments of technical communication in the country. Our department has an active advisory board filled with industry professionals, and our courses focus on client projects that provide students with industry experience. In eight years, with ongoing investments from the university and college, our program and profile has grown significantly. The lecturer joining our department will have the opportunity to guide our client outreach and help our department gain recognition in the DFW area.

Minimum Qualifications: Industry experience as a technical communicator.

Master’s degree with a concentration or specialization in technical communication or a related field.

The University of North Texas System is firmly committed to equal opportunity and does not permit – and takes actions to prevent – discrimination, harassment (including sexual violence), and retaliation on the basis of race, color, religion, national origin, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, age, disability, family status, genetic information, citizenship or veteran status in its application and admission processes, educational programs and activities, facilities, and employment practices. The University of North Texas System immediately investigates and takes remedial action when appropriate.
