Visiting Assistant Professor of Japanese 2018-2019
One-year appointment with possible renewal. Ph.D. in Japanese (language & literature) with a specialty in literature, cultural studies, film studies, or equivalent; native or near-native proficiency in both Japanese and English; and a strong commitment to undergraduate teaching with demonstrated ability to teach in an undergraduate Japanese program. Teaching responsibilities include: Japanese language (beginner through advanced), specialized courses such as translation or business Japanese, a literature capstone course for majors including a research paper, and/or an English-language introduction to Japan. Willingness to perform some departmental, college or university service required.
