Job: Instructors -- Language
Zayed University
Academic Bridge Program

Zayed University, a premier university in the United Arab Emirates, is an innovative institution, based on an international model of higher education.

With over 600 faculty and staff serving 4,100 students across two main campuses, in Abu Dhabi and Dubai, the University prepares graduates to become leaders in government, business, civil society and family life.

The University expects its graduates to be fully bilingual in English and Arabic, proficient in the use of computing technology and strong in quantitative and research skills.

The language of instruction and administration at the University is English.

Zayed University is fully accredited in the U.A.E., as well as by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education in the U.S.A.

The United Arab Emirates is a progressive country, known for its high standard of living and its safe and family-friendly environment.

The Opportunity:
Due to the expansion of the Academic Bridge Program, ZU is looking to recruit well-qualified Language Instructors to join the University in January and August 2010. Appointed Instructors (male or female) will be part of a multi-cultural team, working in the Academic Bridge Program.

The Academic Bridge Program provides language courses to the University's Pre-baccalaureate Students, using an integrated-skills, content-based approach. Course materials are currently being prepared, as part of a textbook initiative, funded by the University. Instructors have a teaching load of twenty contact hours per week, with classes that seldom exceed eighteen students per class.

The Requirements:
Applicants must have M.A.s in TESOL/Linguistics or M.A.s in related fields and have a minimum of three years of teaching experience, preferably at the adult or tertiary level. Recognized teaching qualifications are highly desirable.

The Benefits:
The University's benefits package is highly attractive, with competitive salaries free of tax in the United Arab Emirates, housing, furniture allowances, annual vacation airline tickets for employees and their immediate families, educational subsidies for children and subsidized healthcare for the employees.

To Apply:
Please complete an online application, at:

www.zu.ac.ae

and attach a letter of application, a current CV, the names and contact details of at least three referees and a statement of your undergraduate teaching philosophy.
